Q& A

We will continue to update this section as more questions arise.

What if I don't feel comfortable attending (or having my child attend) the religious service in the morning?
Please still join us in the evening!  We get it.  Our synagogue strives to be open and welcoming to all visitors, recognizing and respecting the diverse beliefs of our guests, but we never want you to feel pressured or uncomfortable.  While the bar mitzvah service is a religious coming-of-age ceremony to mark Parker's acceptance of the responsibilities of Jewish adulthood, outisde of the synagogue he's also an everyday kid, and we have planned an evening reception to celebrate his movement from adolsecence into young adulthood - we call that a birthday party!  We hope that even if you choose not to join us in the morning, you can celebrate with us in the evening.
What time should we arrive?
Morning services begin at 9am.  Evening reception begins at 6pm.

What should we wear?
We ask that women cover their arms and men cover their heads during morning services.  Kippot (yarmulkes) will be provided at the synagogue. For the evening reception, we recommend cocktail or smart casual, but please wear whatever makes you feel like your best self!

Is there parking?
The venue has parking immediately in front and additional parking to the right (west) in the adjoining shopping center.

Can we bring kids?
Yes—families welcome.  This is a birthday party, after all!

Can you share more about dinner?

While dinner will not be kosher, we plan to try to maintain kosher-style offerings and vegetarian dishes.  Our caterer will also be omitting peanut recipes, but we cannot guarantee that there will be no kitchen cross-contamination.
